Craig Fishbane was born in the right place at the right time. A lifelong resident of Brooklyn, he has utilized his borough’s native traits—its blunt pragmatism, its streetwise tolerance, its unpretentious love of learning—to fuel his trinity of pursuits: teaching, traveling and trouble making. He considers writing to be among the highest forms of trouble making and has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize for his efforts. His work has been published in the New York Quarterly, New World Writing, the Manhattanville Review, Drunken Boat, Gravel, the Boston Literary Magazine, FRiGGOpium, Cha: An Asian Literary Journal, Flashquake, Litro UK, Cheap Pop, Blaze Vox, People Holding, Entropy,  Everyday Fiction, Short Fast & Deadly, the Minetta Review, Prime Number, Referential, the Zodiac Review, Red Fez, Sacred Journey, Seltzer, 4’33, Night Train, Fringe, Six-Minute Fiction and The Nervous BreakdownOn the Proper Role of Desire is his first collection of short fiction.
